We are thinking of spending 16-23 Dec in Lanzarote but would like it to be hot. Are there any areas that are considered hotter or less windy? Also we have a 10 year old and 7 year old - can you recommend any hotels that will accommodate all of us - we would prefer not to be in the middle of no where, but also not in a tacky tourist area. Any comments would be really appreciated.
hi denise, been to lanzarote a few times in jan/feb,pleasantly warm in the daytime but can be chilly at night.I prefer costa teguise,i would not call it tacky but it is a beach holiday area.I have stayed in a few different holiday complexes(hotels)and they are all clean.I found the island was very safe but i suggest you rent a safe where you are staying for passports, cards etc and emergency cash. With the children warn them that tripping on the lava can be very uncomfortable.A great beach in CTEG is playa jablillo, very safe and you can see colourfull fishes. There are photos on the INLANZAROTE site and WEBSHOTS photo site have a great time david hind
